Peter Yarrow at the Atlanta Botanical Garden (8/15/08)
On August 15, 2008, Cornerstone members and their guests gathered at the Atlanta Botanical Garden for special benefit concert with Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary. During the reception, prior to the concert, everyone was able to tour the gardens and meet Peter.
Peter is a great supporter of public television and encouraged everyone in the audience to continue supporting the station. He described himself as folk singer who sings about issues facing the community. One of the issues he feels strongly about is the value of inclusiveness as a characteristic of American society and how we need to be constantly looking for ways to uphold this value.
Peter signed copies of his new children’s book Puff the Magic Dragon. He sang a few new songs and a number of old favorites and even invited members of the audience up on the stage to sing with him. It was definitely a wonderful evening of music, nostalgia and good friends.
