WABE Introduces News Journalist
December 15, 2010
For our December Insider Edition, WABE hosted a luncheon in Studio A introducing our News Staff to our Cornerstone Members and guest. About 80 members and guest shared a delicious lunch of soups and sandwiches provide by Stone Soup Kitchen. Studio A was decorated with festive Holiday tables and brightly adored accent pieces placed around the room. WABE staff and Cornerstone members and their guest mingled about while sampling soups, sandwiches a plate of seasonal desserts.
Fred Skey, Major Donor Officer, welcomed everyone and introduced WABE News Director, Michael Fields. Before joining WABE, Mr. Fields spent twenty years with NPR mainly in Washington D.C. He covered the Olympics for NPR in 1996 and in 1999 was assigned as NPR Southern Bureau Chief. Mr. Fields joined WABE as News Director in 2006. He has expanded WABE’s local Atlanta news coverage and has won many news awards. Mr. Fields proudly introduced each member of his News Staff to Cornerstone Society members and guest.
Mr. Fields gave a brief bio each member of his staff .Then each individual gave a brief talk about their past experience and their current role in the News Room. It was a pleasure to place a face with each voice and to hear each of the News Staff speak about their past experience and enthusiasm to WABE. Each is dedicated to bringing unbiased, in-depth news from our Atlanta community day in and day out.
