Atlanta Braves Game Night
August 5, 2010
The weather was hot and so were the Braves as 200 Cornerstone members and their guest gathered for a private reception before the game in the 755 Club for a traditional ball park meal of hot dogs and hamburgers. Special guest, John Schuerholz, President of the Atlanta Braves talked about his years of experience in baseball and how the game has evolved and changed during his career. Before joining the Braves, Mr. Schuerholz spent twenty-two years with the Kansas City Royals, including nine years as General Manager. He joined the Braves Organization in 1990 as General Manager and built teams that won a record 13 straight Division Pennants and the World Series in 1995. Mr. Schuerholz was named President of the Atlanta Braves in 2007. He published a book, Built to Win in 2006, his inside account of his career and life in baseball. Mr. Schuerholz displayed an easy manner and endeared the Cornerstone members during a lively Q&A session. Before departing the 755 Club, Paul Adams, Director of Ticket Sales conducted a drawing of Braves items to several lucky members. Signed baseballs, hats, Mr. Schuerholz’s book and T-shirts were some of the prizes taken home as souvenirs of the event. Our seats were located in the Terrace Level giving members an excellent view of the field and quick access to Club Level concessions. The evening was a complete success as Cornerstone Members and guest cheered the Braves to a win over the San Francisco 49ers.
