Join 90. 1 WABE and TREES ATLANTA and do something great for Arbor Day in Georgia.
Thank you to everyone who made a pledge of support during our most recent WABE "Trees Atlanta Day," March 24th, 2011. Because of you, 1,479 trees will be planted in our community on February 17th and 18th. This is in addition to the 2,753 trees we planted in Atlanta back in 2010!
You can take part. By volunteering, you'll help to plant year-old seedlings. These native trees are chosen for their ability to thrive in our area. We will be planting a new WABE grove located along Freedom Parkway connecting to the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum.

Since 1975, metro Atlanta has lost 65% of its tree cover and so in 1985, Trees Atlanta began planting and distributing trees where they are needed most. Today they've contributed over 80,000 trees to metro Atlanta. Your contribution to WABE helped to make this happen. Thank you Atlanta!
The BeltLine Arboretum is essentially a continuous outdoor classroom. The arboretum communicates to schools, neighborhoods, and visitors to Atlanta that 'trees are for health, trees are for community, trees are for life.' The BeltLine Arboretum is more than a tree museum; it's a corridor of scientific research and education and developed over the next two decades.
Have a look at a map of the conceptual plan of the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum.
On February 19, 2011 members of the community planted the WABE donated trees in The Beltline Arboretum. View the slide show below.
"A day without WABE is like a day without sunshine. We are excited to know that our contribution this fund drive not only benefits the station but provides a wonderful tree for our environment. We are greatly enriched listening to WABE! Many, many thanks and keep up the great work!"
"As a huge fan of WABE and of Trees Atlanta, it is great to be able to support you both!"
"I could have a radio with only one station on it! I have been a member for as long as you have had members. I am just delighted to make an extra pledge for the Trees Atlanta Earth Day promotion. I'm very grateful to both WABE and Trees Atlanta."
"My 7 year old came home from school today talking about Earth Day and when I told him about what you're doing with Trees Atlanta he made me promise that I would donate something before going to bed tonight. He's already asleep and I'm sure he will be very excited in the morning when I tell him that I kept my promise."
