Narrated by Grammy-winning country music star Kathy Mattea, "Heart of the World: Colorado's National Parks" tells the stories of five of the most amazing parks on the planet. Each episode elegantly fuses together the natural histories of each park (approximately 10 to 12 minutes per park, per program). The three-hour documentary series also combines stunning photography of the parks.

Episode 1: Wonder

Wonder unlocks the mysteries of the geological forces that created the amazing landscapes of Rocky Mountain National Park, Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, Colorado National Monument, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and Mesa Verde National Park.

Episode 2: Water

Water focuses on the distinct ways that water forms the landscapes, and the unique life it helps to create and sustain life in Rocky Mountain National Park, Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, Colorado National Monument, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and Mesa Verde National Park.

Episode 3: Life

Humans are an important part of the story of Colorado’s National Parks. Some used the abundant natural resources to make it home. Others used ingenious methods to adapt to the harsh environments. Still others recognized the wonder of these places and sought to preserve them for future generations. The common denominator for humans across cultures is the power the National Parks of Colorado.
