The Atlanta Rainbow Trout

The Atlanta Rainbow Trout, a Gay & Lesbian-friendly swim and water polo club has been around since 1995. This water polo team is very diverse, consisting of the young, old, gay, straight, male, and female from various backgrounds and professions.

Water polo plays a lot like soccer and ice hockey; but in water. The object of the game is to throw a ball into the opponent’s goal and to prevent members of the opposing team from scoring on your goal. The ball is advanced by throwing it or swimming with it. The player cannot touch the ball with both hands at the same time (except the goalkeeper) or strike the ball with a closed fist.

Water polo is a very physically demanding sport. Lots of substitutes are needed because not many people can play an entire game. The Atlanta Rainbow Trout water polo team practices four times per week at the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center. You don’t have to be an expert swimmer or player to be a part of the team. The Atlanta Rainbow Trout will train you!
