Atlanta Xplosion

Maybe you’ve never heard of the Atlanta Xplosion, but that’s about to change. The Xplosion won the 2006 Independent Women’s Football League national championship, but they didn’t rest on their laurels. Big win followed big win as they powered through subsequent games.

Wait? Did that say women’s football? Indeed. The Atlanta Xplosion is a full-contact women’s football team. They play by NFL rules and regulations, with the smaller football as the only exception. And they hit. Hard.

While some of the players may be relatively new to football, the Xplosion’s roster is filled with former college basketball players, gymnasts, track stars and other accomplished, lifelong athletes. Competition is nothing new to them.

The Xplosion just may be the best kept secret in Atlanta sports. Visit the team’s website for game info, and then go cheer on your new home team.
