Mike Luckovich has been the editorial cartoonist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution since 1989. Originally from Seattle, Luckovich discovered his talent for drawing as a child. He now uses that talent to draw cartoons for the newspaper five days a week. His cartoons usually have a humorous edge, combining topical news subjects and pop culture. His bold opinions and sarcastic sense of humor can sometimes divide readers and earn him both passionate fans and critics. His deadline each day is 5:30 p.m. He usually finds himself working right up to the last minute to complete the next day’s cartoon and says that pressure is what fuels his creativity. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1995 and 2006. His cartoons have appeared in numerous publications around the world.
