A Jazz Classic

[hjo-right]H. Johnson first sat down behind the microphone at 90.1 WABE as a temporary fill-in. Over thirty years later, he’s still waiting for his replacement. H. hosts Jazz Classics every Saturday night from 9 pm to 2 am, spinning records and interviewing local musicians like Joe Gransden. The admiration goes both ways; every other Monday, H. drops in on Joe at Café 290, where his big band plays to a packed house. Usually, H. tells some jokes and introduces the band, but our cameras caught him on a special night full of unexpected surprises.
