Do you like poetry or think you have what it takes to be a good poet? If you want to hear the word or want express your word consider paying a visit to the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center on Briarcliff Road in Northeast Atlanta. Callanwolde hosts a poetry reading on the second Wednesday of each month. Members of the Poetry at Callanwolde committee and the Georgia Poetry Society coordinate the readings which include nationally and internationally renowned poets in addition to local talent. Callanwolde also hosts “open-mic” poetry readings several times a year where local amateurs are given the opportunity to sign up and recite readings of their own work. Poetry Readings are held in Callanwolde’s historic Conservatory (green house), located behind the main house at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center.
