56-year-old Marian Jackson is president of People First of Georgia, an advocacy group for people with disabilities. Growing up, she lived with her grandparents. Both were field hands, and neither knew how to read. For a long time, Marian didn’t either. She told her story to Jennifer Falk, of Parent to Parent of Georgia.
This story was recorded in partnership with TASH, a disability advocacy organization.
