Adriane & Stanley Sasine
We hear from Stanley Sasine who was part of a group of World War II soldiers called Merrill’s Marauders. They were tasked with getting the Japanese out of Burma, now Myanmar. Stanley was one of the few who survived to see their last battle. Today he’s 86 - and he told his story to his grandson, Adrian Sasine. We want to warn our listeners that parts of this conversation recall a violent scene, which may be unsettling to some listeners.

Lee Rushing, of Flowery Branch, was known as Lisa Rushing growing up, but early on, he realized that his physical body didn’t match who he knew himself to be on the inside. He told his story to his partner, Allison Rushing.
