Annette Marcus interviews her mother Charlene Sacks about her first date as a sixteen year old girl, in 1942. Charlene, who’s Jewish, says one of the biggest hurdles to the event was convincing her father to allow her to go on the date during Passover and with a non-Jewish boy.
