Susan V. Booth

Susan V. Booth is the Artistic Director of the Alliance Theatre Company. Her 2002-2003 inaugural season featured the launch of an international tour of Bring on Da’ Noise, Bring on Da’ Funk, starring Savion Glover and directed by George Wolfe; the American premiere of Keith Reddin’s Frame 312; and The City Series, a ten week festival featuring the work of five of Atlanta’s leading theatres assembled on the Alliance’s stage.
Booth was previously Director of New Play Development at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre, Co-Artistic Director for the City of Chicago’s professional summer theatre, and Associate Artistic Director of Northlight Theatre. She has held teaching positions at Northwestern and Depaul Universities, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Booth holds a Master of Arts degree from Northwestern University, where she also completed her doctoral coursework. She was a Fellow of the 1990 National Critics Institute, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Performance from Denison University. She is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta’s class of 2003 and serves on the board of Atlanta’s Regional Arts Alliance. She is a member of the National Theatre Conference and serves on the national board of the Theatre Communications Group.
