Jo Ann Haden-Miller is a sixteen-year veteran of the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau’s (ACVB) marketing division, currently serving as the director of cultural tourism department. Cultural Tourism at the ACVB was established in 1997 as a marketing-focused coalition dedicated to unite Atlanta’s cultural organizations in the development and promotion of a strong cultural product; to build exciting collaborations designed to both brand as the Cultural Capital of the South and favorably impact the Atlanta economy.

Jo Ann is an accomplished communications professional and has been active in the Atlanta community for over 30 years in the civic, political, business, and hospitality arenas. Prior to joining the ACVB, Jo Ann was executive director of In-Town, Inc., an organization developed to promote “Atlanta to Atlantans” which also created a major early ’80s downtown event called “Light-Up Atlanta.” She co-authored a history for the Atlanta Bar Association—Atlanta and Its Lawyers: a Century of Vision: 1888-1988; supervised the 1979 Grand Opening event of the $42.5 million Atlanta Apparel Mart; managed media relations for two Georgia political candidates during the 70’s; served as a volunteer, predominantly, in public relations posts for a variety of non-profit, civic and cultural organizations; and served as staff in political and Georgia legislative arenas for over 13 years.

Jo Ann currently serves on the executive committee of Central Atlanta Progress’ Downtown Marketing Roundtable, its retail committee; the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Metro Travel Association, the Atlanta Coalition of Performing Arts and the Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon; and is on the steering committee of National Cultural Heritage Tourism Alliance. She was recently named a founding board member of the newly formed, ALLga—Arts Leadership League of Georgia.

Jo Ann is on the board of Outstanding Atlanta, Class of 1973, having served as President and Historian. She was recently awarded the very first Outstanding Alumni Award by the group and is a 2003 graduate of the Leadership Midtown Atlanta program.

Jo Ann grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Major: Music; Graduated with Honors) from Mary Washington College (at that time the women’s division of the University of Virginia) She is married to Atlanta native William G. Miller, who is on the executive staff of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. Both Jo Ann and Bill are residents of the city of Atlanta neighborhood, Ardmore Park.
