Veteran jazz host, raconteur, and savvy connoisseur of classic jazz recordings, the venerable and affable H. Johnson hosts this award-winning live show every Saturday night from 9:00 p.m. till 2:00 a.m. over WABE 90.1 FM, your home for Classic Jazz.

Join us Monday evening, June 21, as we celebrate a Tribute to H. Johnson, a big band concert event honoring H, who has been WABE’s Jazz Classics host for over three decades. On this evening, community leaders, business associates, personal friends, and fans of H are gathering at Cafe 290 for this very special event. John Scatena, owner of Cafe 290, welcomes H. with friends including comedian Jerry Farber and the fabulous musicians of the Joe Gransden Big Band. Doors open at 7PM and the first set begins at 8:30 PM. The event is open to the public, and advance ticket sales are available. It’s quite possible that this event will sell out in advance! PBA30, Atlanta’s PBS station, will also be on hand Monday night to produce a special TV feature about H. for the next the episode of This Is Atlanta with Alicia Steele scheduled to air this fall on PBA30.
