Call it The Parent Trap for grown-ups. Tokens of Affection premiered at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center earlier this month. After taking an extended “intermission” due to a winter storm, the Georgia Ensemble Theatre production is back up and running through January 23rd. John Lemley sat down with playwright and director Topher Payne to discuss the role humor plays in a good relationship, what makes marriage work—and of course, his play.

Full Radius Dance Company

Full Radius Dance Company provides one of Atlanta’s most unique offerings. They work with dancers with and without disabilities to promote and advance modern dance. This weekend at Seven Stages the company will perform “Walking on my Grave” and other dances. WABE’s David Barasoain produced this profile.

A conversation between a mother, Skelly Holmbeck, and her sons, Paul Pelham, age ten, and Thomas Pelham III, age 12. The three moved to Florida after Skelly’s divorce, but came to Atlanta’s StoryCorps booth on a recent visit. Skelly started off the conversation—about the tough times the three have gone through—and surmounted—together.

Rapido! Finals

The Atlanta Chamber Players is the force behind yesterday’s Rapido! finals. The Rapido! Composition Contest is a competition in which contestants have 14 days to compose an original movement of four to six minutes for a mixed ensemble. WABE’s Dave Barasoain dropped by for yesterday’s National Finals, held at the High Museum’s Hill Auditorium, for the music and for the announcement of the winner.
