For Kudzu Control, Beltline Turns to Kids—Billies and Nannies, Too
24 goats. An acre and a half. And three weeks. Trees Atlanta and the Beltline Project hope it all adds up to a lot less kudzu. The two groups are piloting their kudzu-eradication project at a spot just south of Grant Park—and this week, producer Kate Sweeney paid a visit.

Earlier this fall, Melissa Crane Worden brought her father, 72-year-old Jim Crane, to our recording booth to ask him about his life growing up. Both live in Marietta now, but Jim was raised in a mill town in North Carolina and was the first person in his family to go to college. That was an experience Melissa was still curious about.

Beltline Lantern Parade
On Saturday October 2nd, Atlanta was hit by a nighttime spectacle: a lantern parade that walked the Beltline from Reynoldstown nearly to North Avenue. Organized by the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons and attracting hundreds of participants, the festivities marked the end of the Art On The BeltLine project. WABE’s Myke Johns was with the parade from beginning to end, hoping to find illumination.
