Carter Center Re-design
Lately, if you’ve wanted to visit the Jimmy Carter Museum you would find that it’s closed for a 10 Million dollar re-design. The museum plans to re-open on October 1st, just in time for former President Carter’s 85th birthday. Earlier I stopped by to take a tour with Jay Hakes, the Director of the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library about what will be included in the new re-design.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream
The Georgia Shakespeare Festival has kicked off it’s summer series at Oglethorpe University with Shakespeare’s classic comedy, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” This is Georgia Shakespeare’s 24th anniversary season and we are honored to have with us Richard Garner, who is the Producing Artistic Director and Co-Founder.

The Memory Palace - Messrs. Craft
Summer is a time of freedom and long journeys, and in that spirit, producer Nate DiMeo shares with us a story from his radio series, The Memory Palace, about one slave’s curious — and courageous — road to freedom.

Think for a moment of beauty of the outdoors. That could be nature and for some its also art. One local Atlanta artist has a brand of street art that he purposefully displays outside for all to see and for mother nature to eventually fade.
Artist Matt Haffner, recently had a large INDOOR work — Dreams of a Sleeping Giant - on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia.

Images of The Apocalypse
The poet Robert Frost wrote “some say the world will end in fire / some say in ice.” Frost obviously hadn’t consulted any of the artists taking part in Images of the Apocalypse — an exhibit going on now at Georgia State University. Myke Johns paid them a visit.
Images of the Apocalypse runs through August 12th at Georgia State’s Welch School Gallery.
