The Russians and former Soviet Citizens
Residents from the former Soviet republics are scattered across Atlanta. The latest census recorded some 3,300 Russians and 2,100 Ukrainians among metro Atlanta’s foreign-born population. Another 2,800 Atlanta residents were born in Belarus and other eastern European nations, including Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Moldova. The census also recorded over 26,000 individuals in Atlanta with Russian ancestry - both native and foreign-born. There are another 7,000 with Ukrainian ancestry.
