While some in the community believe that the number is much higher, the population of Korean-Americans in the Atlanta region was recorded in the 2000 census at 20,000. That’s up from just over 10,000 in 1990. The Korean community is clustered in four of the region’s counties, with the largest concentration by far in Gwinnett County, home to about 9,300 Koreans(Courtesy: Atlanta Regional Commission)

Members of the SeJong Korean American school of Georgia play traditional Korean instruments in a style of percussion known as Sa Mul No Ri. The words ‘Sa Mul’ meaning four things for the four instruments: the Buk, Janggu, Jing and Ggoenggari. The words ‘No Ri’, mean to play.
