Founded in 1929, Atlanta Ballet is the longest continuously operating ballet company in the United States. Lauri Stallings is a contemporary dancemaker. She began her professional career at Cleveland San José Ballet, followed by BalletMet, Canada's Ballet British Columbia, and several seasons with the Hubbard St. Dance Chicago. Stallings has created new works for this Chicago studio as well as the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, American Repertory Ballet, Dutch National Ballet Project, and Fordham/Ailey 2, among others.
