Civilian Conservation Corps

This film looks at one of the boldest and most popular experiments of President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal. In 1933, F.D.R. sent legislation to Congress aimed at providing relief for the 25% of American workers who were unemployed. His proposal was the Civilian Conservation Corp, which provided jobs in natural resource conservation. Over the next decade, more than three million were put to work in the nation’s forests and parks.
