Master Control Operator (Temporary)

Reports To: Master Control Manager
Summary
PBA seeks Master Control operator for temporary assignment that will last at least 2 months. This is a technical position that performs Master Control switching and videotape operations for over-air and cable operations of WPBA-TV.
Accountabilities
- Maintains video and audio levels and related parameters, to maintain compliance with FCC regulations.
- Operates broadcast equipment as necessary to maintain on-air continuity.
- Maintains FCC program and transmitter logs.
- Performs basic light maintenance as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Experience
- Operational knowledge of broadcast automated television master control systems.
- Operational knowledge of broadcast video server system.
- Operational knowledge of broadcast file management systems.
- Operational knowledge of broadcast satellite receiver systems.
- Operational knowledge of remote FM broadcast transmission monitoring.
- Operational knowledge of broadcast 1”, beta SP, and SVHS video playback and recording equipment.
- Operational knowledge of broadcast video and audio monitoring systems and equipment.
- Operational knowledge of broadcast and FCC broadcast video and audio signal parameters.
Knowledge and Skills
High School diploma or GED required. 1-3 years engineering experience in television facility, college courses in related field can substitute for experience. Understanding of basic television ie., patch panels, routing switchers, MC switchers and waveform monitors required. Computer savvy.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Will require walking on level and un-level surfaces for periodic periods through out the day, while carrying technical equipment. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or Lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 to 30 pounds for technical equipment.
Good hand, eye coordination for working equipment.
