Department: Development
- Work with Director of Development to develop, implement and manage the overall radio on-air fundraising goals and strategies of WABE.
- Work with the Director of Development and Chief Financial Officer to set radio on-air goals and help develop annual plan to meet those goals.
- Plan, develop and manage the overall production elements with radio content staff to be used during on-air radio fundraising campaigns, including listener testimonials
- Help determine dates for radio on-air and on-line fundraising.
- Work with Director of Development and radio staff to develop on-air pitch schedule.
- Develop, write and revise radio on-air and digital domain messaging scripts, and scripts for testimonials, promotion, incentive gifts, thank you spots and fulfillment scripts used before, during and after fundraising campaigns.
- Develop and supervise web materials and emails to be used during pledge drives
- Plan and supervise breaks to be used during pledge drive
- Maintain system with operations for storing and retrieving scripts and produced pieces for on-air and on-line use.
- Provide on-going training for staff on effective pitch and fundraising strategies.
- Oversee and manage pledge related radio pre-drive fundraising.
- Assist in the selection and management of radio on-air pledge and web incentive gifts and the appropriate pledge levels.
- Work with membership on the fulfillment of radio incentive gifts and sweepstakes drawings.
- Develop a plan in cooperation with the Director of Development, PBA’s direct response agency and new media staff for the overall digital domain fundraising goals, strategies and initiatives of Public Broadcasting Atlanta.
- Help design and implement a plan for acquiring email and other digital environment addresses of WABE listeners through on-air and online promotions, contests and surveys
- Help design and implement a cultivation process using acquired email and digital environment addresses
- Help design and implement a solicitation process using acquired email and digital environment addresses
- Help design and implement a stewardship process for donors acquired online and through all other digital environments
- Implement and manage assigned elements of the approved overall -digital domain strategies and initiatives
- Manage email responses and opt-out requests
- Assist with the Combined Federal Campaign management including on-air and on-line messages
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development.
Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor degree and or at least three (3) years or more “hands on” experience in fundraising related activities.
- Candidate must demonstrate strong organizational and management abilities, excellent written/oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of all forms and implementation strategies of fundraising.
- Computer, Internet savvy and proficient in MS Office
- Knowledge of and proven experience in fundraising over digital domains is a plus.
- Proven track record of success in non-profit fundraising is essential.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
